The top-grade cures to decongest clogged waste pipes in your household
How would you handle a clogged drain in your toilet? – Keep a plunger handy for such emergency situations. What’s involved is very clear, cover the drain with the plunger and push. But you should avoid applying unnecessarily too much force to the plunger when pulsating it up and down. Ideally the plunger’s bell shaped head should be used to cover the drainage fully, you can then push the plunger down and then pull it up again to create suction in a slow rhythmical manner. In theory the suction created by pulling up quickly will dislodge the material that is clogging your bathtub, toilet or sink. It should be noted here that some bath tubs and sinks have overspill outlets that must be plugged with a sponge or wet towel before using your plunger if this approach is to work.
You can also use chemical cleaners you can buy in the shops to unclog your drain pipe, these uses certain chemicals to open up the blockage in the drainpipe. But it would only be recommended to resort to using chemicals after you have tried fixing the problem with a drains plunger. Leave the chemical for a few minutes so that it loosens the blockage, and then use hot water to rinse out the drainpipe, taking care not to splash yourself. During the cleaning operation, chemicals and dirt may spill over your clothes, therefore as a precaution wear old clothes. After chemical flushing, you may try the plunger again – this can cause the chemical/water mix to splash back on you – eye guards are highly advisable here. The chemical product comes with specific manufacturer’s directions; it is important to read and follow them carefully.
You can use a pipe wrench or pliers to unscrew the P-trap if you are unable to remove the clog with the plunger, this will give you access to the pipe. Now, this process can be really messy, so keep the towel and bucket handy. If you don’t want to damage the chrome finish of your pipes and also to get a better grip on the pipe, you can wrap the jaws of your wrench with electrical tape. After disassembling the P-trap, examine the trap for anything blocking the mouth of the pipe. If you dont find anything on the P-trap, then it means that the problem lies deeper somewhere between the trap and soil stack.
A deep clog in the toilet can be loosened by a toilet auger. With a bathtub or sink, however a drainpipe snake should be used. drainpipe snakes are manufactured to be able to access the far side of your pipes as narrow as they may be. Once the snake has reached the blockage you can twist the adjustable handle which will drill into the obstruction so you can then pull the material out. When you are sure that all the clogging material is cleared, replace the P-trap and test the drain with hot water. Everything should be sealed properly after the whole process is over, the P-trap and pipes should also be checked for any leaks.
After trying all of these methods and you still have a water flow problem, it is time to contact a drainage contractor or local plumber. You will need to call a professional plumber or drains pipes service when the obstruction is in the sewer or soil track or when it is due to tree roots, or when the pipe has collapsed due to some reason.
