Solve your clogged drains pipes troubles

You are standing under the shower for a relaxing time, and all of sudden you realize that water is rising around your feet. How disgusting! the drainpipe is blocked . You are hurriedly brushing your teeth, and before you can even blink your eyes, the sink is brimming over with water. Plugged drainage are not only a major nuisance for household work; they are also unhygienic health hazards. Yet many residential bathrooms or kitchen will suffer from a stopped drain incident at one particular point or another. Every householder must know how to fight that monster of a plugged drainpipe.

First, let’s look at why drains become clogged and what are the main causes of a blockage.

Most often, when the dirt, sand and debris that we wash off from our bodies combines with the hair that we shed in a bath, all those entangled clumps accumulate within and eventually block the drainpipe. The condition gets worse when products like conditioners, shampoos and detergents accumulate in the already clogged drains. Eventually this will become more and more dense and this is what prevents your water running uninhibited through your drain. If water builds up quickly in your sink or tub when it should flow smoothly out of your drain pipe, you may already have a plumbing blockage on your hands.

How to unclog Your drainage.

You can do a number of things to unblock your bathtub or bathroom sink drainpipe. The first step is to remove the plug whether the blocked drainpipe is in a sink or bath. In the case of the bathroom sink, you can remove the stopper by either pulling it out, unscrewing the nuts that hold it in proper position. For a bath you may be able to simply take out the plug, otherwise you might have to take off the overflow plate in order to get at the assembly.

The accumulated matter choking up your drain may be clearly visible when you have taken off the stopper. It is very likely to look like a small mass of hair and debris wrapped around the drain’s hardware. Try to get hold of the mass and pull it out. If it is difficult to reach the area where the blockage is located, or difficult to grasp the mass, simply use a bent wire clothes hanger to help you do the job. As soon as the blockage is removed, water will start running freely through the drain.

If you need to disassemble the drainpipe and notice that the blockage is not even within reach of a wire hanger, you will have to try another method. blockages which are very deep can be removed with the help of a drain plunger. Begin by covering the overflow drainpipe with a wet towel so as to create a stronger suction from the plunger. Now position the plunger exactly over and around the drain hole and push it rapidly up and down with short quick movements. Hopefully, after doing this and once the plunger is taken away, any water should flow freely down the drain pipe as the vacuum created shifted the obstruction.

You may have to turn to a chemical solution, if the plunger fails to do the job. This method should only be used as a last resort because the chemicals used are dangerous and can be harmful to your bathroom fixtures.

Call in the drainage Professionals.

If all the steps outlined above fail to clear the stopped drain pipe, then it is best to call in a crack team – a qualified and experienced plumber or drains contractor from your area. Plumbers are equipped with tools that can remove clogs with great speed and efficiency. Although availing plumber services can be a costly proposal it gives you the much needed peace of mind as the water starts flowing and the mess is cleaned up.
