I may need to install a drain soak away at the front of my house. How far does it need to be from the building

I have a question on soakaway drains.

I am looking to find out how far the soak away needs to be built from my house. is there a legal requirement? is there danger of the water causing damp or affecting foundations if there is an overflow from the soakaway drains? thanks

when i did it, i understood it had to be at least 2 metres away from building to the nearest edge of the soak away, be sure and ask building reg’s people tomorrow.

don’t know if your in the uk or not but when i was in the building game over there it was a minimum of three mtrs from the property to the soakaway drains but better to check with your local planning officer he will advise you to the current local legislation on this

Building regs keep changing all the time even for something as simple as soakaway drains. Get hold of planning office. Best be safe than sorry.
