The system for removing pollution from utilities to a septic tank or sewer uses drainage pipes. Pipelines connecting houses to septic tanks include some inspection chambers so that you can check the status of the pipe or tackle a blockage without digging up the pipe. The system is supposed to keep itself clean and prevent the occurrence of any blockage. The use of correct gradients is a must here. Normally UPVC pipework is employed in the sewer system. Once laying has been carried out, it is vital to test the system fully before putting it into commission. This should be done between the inspection chambers.
Drainage pipes need to be laid down in channels dug in the earth. Three hundred to five hundred millimeters is the typical depth adopted. Drainage lines running under a walkway, driveway or parking area are installed with a concrete casing. When commencing the work, excavate to the required levels. The grading must be done near the sewers or the tank. One to four is the acceptable ratio of the slope to be created. Ensure that the bottom of every trench is well rammed to get a uniformly compacted surface. The level in the foot of a trench bottoms should be determined using pegs.
Drainage pipes should be laid in a straight line. Sockets enable connecting of the pipes and directing them towards the building. The sewer system should be placed on a solid, smooth and flat ground. A good adhesive for the joints should be used for joining the male and female sockets. Read the instructions that come with the adhesive carefully and make sure that all of them are followed well. Ensure that the pipe goes into the full wall thickness during connection to the various inspection chambers. The pipes should remain clean.
Inspect and scrutinise the drainage pipes while laying them. This is done to avoid using punctured pipes which will leak over time. The recesses of the socket should be made at the deepest point. Keep them short where possible. The inlet and outlet of the inspection chamber must be even and ordered. After fixing all the joints properly, the system then needs to be wrapped up with soil. Link the system to the septic tank. Complete the drainage system by connecting the utilities and test the full system.
