I have a question on soakaway drains. I am looking to find out how far the soak away needs to be built from my house. is there a legal requirement? is there danger of the water causing damp or affecting foundations if there is an overflow from the soakaway drains? thanks

Should I let my plant soak and drain in the shower before i repot?

Would it be advisable to permanently seal a French drain?

My partially finished basement tends to ge wet during heavy rains or quick spring thaws. Water comes up through French drain and soaks carpeting that was installed over drain cover. Would it be advisable to seal the drain as my plumber has suggested? If I do that, where would water go?
